Out and About in Shoreham

Shoreham Beach is a 15 minute drive to either Brighton or Worthing, where high street shops, cinema and theatres can be found. Other places of interest include Chichester, Arundel, Lancing College and local surrounding picturesque villages, such as Steying and Bramber with its castle ruins. The colourful and bohemian houseboats moored on the riverbank of the Beach can be seen from the public footpath. Some have been imaginatively turned in to works of art (lookout for the one with the coach and washing machine welded on!). Parts of the riverbank have been cultivated and beautiful gardens have been formed from the waste land.

Annual events such as Goodwood and the local Beach Dreams festival are also easily accessible.

On the second Saturday of every month there is a farmers market in Shoreham, selling locally produced vegetables, meat, bread and plants.

For the Younger Vistor

There a couple of parks within walking distance and a BMX park at the local recreation ground. Loads of sand at low tide and rock pools to explore on the Kingston Bay beach. Coombes Farm is a 10 minute car drive away which offers tractor rides over the Downs.
